People of the World (video)

People of the World (audio)

People of the World

Power! Come on babe
Don’t you know
It’s in your hands in your hands

People of the world
Power!
It’s in your hands

All you people in poverty
All your Love in misery
Turn around encompass me
You could be what you wanna be

People of the world
Power!
It’s in your hands

Sun may not always shine
When you spinning
on a dime
Just keep singing
And you will find
Love will come
Just in time

What do you mean
You giving up
What do you mean
You can’t believe
Get up your body
And dance and dance
I show you up

People of the world
Power!
It’s in your hands

Do you know
Where you going
Love’s in you
Light is showing
Spread it out
Through the world
Sing it sweetly
As a bird

People of the world
Power!
It’s in your hands

– Ephraim Hylton

Mercy Train (audio)

Mercy Train

When the moon
is full
And the sun
is setting low
A voice
Heard from the sky
The Mercy Train
is coming
Get on board
This Mercy Train
For its leaving soon
Don’t you wait
Don’t delay
For it might not be
Coming by again
Get on board
This Mercy Train
For it might not be
Coming
Yea coming coming by
Again
Invisible cities
Caught up
In the air
Among the shadow
of clouds
Last blue light
Crescendo
Before dark night
This Mercy Train
One stop
To Love
Don’t get
Left behind
Get on board
For it might not be
Coming by
Bright light
Cities of light
Coming by
Coming by again

– Ephraim Hylton

Everyman (audio)

Everyman

I am from
Trees and mountains
Sky and seas
Collision of stars
Become me
Mark my birth
I am forever
And I am now
Everyman
Trapped in time
Captured in space
But free of mind
And spirits’ Grace
That goes through
Friction and fog
Fiction and fact
I am mist
I am air
Bound to courage
The one who dare
Fight in life
Fight in death
Never give in
To fear
And its illusion
For death
Sits silently still
To the memory
of everyman’s
Fulfilling will

– Ephraim Hylton

Rebel I

Rebel I
I love her
I do
I don’t know why
I hope
She love me too
Rules don’t apply
A platoon of birds
Go by
Like jet blades
In the sky
Rebel man I
Salute to love
And its eternal bliss
For we all
Seek it
We all
Need it
Beyond the thrill
But if you go
Rebel I
I will not hold
My breath
For who
For you
Should know
Who brings you
Life indeed
Not for all
Rebel forever
Though tears cry
Sharp as stone
Rebel I

– Ephraim Hylton

Time Zero (video)

Time Zero (audio)

Time Zero

I
Somewhere
Under the sky
Falling in a spell
No things to describe
Could be nothing
Could be hell
A narrative
Angels fled
I crave the hope
The other place
To dwell
I have no sermons
To say
No grace
No strength
No beauty to tell
But I am assured
By the lions roar
The sweat and salt
Somewhere by a shore
Where darkness and light meet
I am
Though no more
And the world
A concussion of pain
Will turn
And turn again

– Ephraim Hylton

Dust Flower (video)

Dust Flower (audio)

Dust Flower

Beautiful illusionful
Beautiful dust flower
Is this fantasy or reality
Gone wrong
Headstrong
Blazing before my mind
I see colours of you
for you
Touching me now
an eclipse in my thoughts
Do you see me
Tell me
am I real
Or am I a memory
Of your imagination your imagination
Come on touch me
let me feel alive
This moment
Passion reaction
burning distraction
Of you for you
Dust of a flower dust of a flower
Hear me calling you
Dust of a flower
See me watching you
Take us to where
Feel me touching you
No beginning no end is there
Beautiful illusionful
Beautiful dust flower
Is this fantasy or reality
Gone wrong
Headstrong
Blazing before my mind
I see colours of you for you
Tell me now
All my senses are dull
All my mind is numb
Come through with pain or pleasure
What I need to know
This is real this is real
Come touch me now
Come on
you got ears to hear
Eyes I see in their sockets
Can’t you sex me
Let me feel the warmth
Of your fingers
touching my flesh
Let me feel the sensation
Of your vibration
In me
through me
around me
inhabit me
As I inhabit your soul
Hear me calling you
Dust of a flower
See me watching you
Take us to where
Feel me touching you
No beginning no end is there
Beautiful illusionful
Beautiful dust flower
Is this fantasy or reality
Gone wrong
headstrong
Blazing before my mind
I see colours of you
for you
Dust of a flower dust of a flower

– Ephraim Hylton

Buried There

Buried there
Under the ground
Under the dust
of your feet
Do not walk
Away
A sound
So empty
It carries me
Deep
Do not leave me
Here
By myself
Back in this cold
Dark earth within
To sleep
Without rest

– Ephraim Hylton

One Day

One day
We will all be together
In Love and communion
A bursting birth of stars
And purple stream
Angel dust
Across your face
Like the seas
On the ocean
Gravity between
Rings of frenetic fractions
Bright colours
That sound and look
As worlds created
In conversation
I am with the people
As spring blossoms
And life is new again
Smiles and laughter
Sparkle the air
As winds race through
the tall grass
We are separate
Yet bound together
Two shadows
Dancing towards the still hour
Across a ring’d Earth
Our union
Predicts our future
On the precipice of a dream
Within a dream
In a dream
No where to stand
No where to fall
A third gravity takes us
Or not at all

– Ephraim Hylton

About

Ephraim Hylton is a powerful, resonating and hypnotic creative force that expresses his gorgeous soul through music and poetry. Originally from Kingston Jamaica but a Torontonian for years, Hylton has experienced the various elements of a rigorous and fruitful life. Hylton describes his love for music as inherent and collected from ancient cultural and religious experiences. His grandfather’s voice was described as a waterfall and his father’s as thunder, Ephraim Hylton’s voice is a combination of the two – powerful yet calming and absolutely brilliant to experience.

Hylton’s history in music clearly runs deep; he sang in a choir growing up and later became interested in the art of storytelling. Hylton collaborated with various other musicians and learned how to hone his craft as a songwriter. Hylton blends his diverse range of talents to create profound and rich songs that derive straight from his heart. His songs are about what truly inspires him; the world around us and the people in it.

Hytlon is a mesmerizing singer, a wise songwriter, and profound poet and above all a brilliant artist. His music is a tunnel into his vast and exquisite soul.
